WE ARE NOW OPEN FOR AN EXTRA HOUR FROM 10AM – 3PM on the third Saturday of every month!

The Fitzroy Market launched in February 2010. The team in 2013 is: Fiona Newton – Market Manager, Fionna Scott – Stall Coordinator, Colin Mowbray – Performer Coordination and Ric Richmond – The extraordinary Handyman. The team was determined to establish a space for Fitzroy’s residents and visitors to meet communally and seek, swap or sell their wares, they began by building relationships with community groups. Fitzroy Market has raised awareness, and funds, for programs helping those in need. This passion for social justice has forged bonds with community partners, helping fund important projects to maintain and strengthen the neighbourhood’s support network.

The Fitzroy Market is not driven by a profit motive or trend status, but by the will to create a fun, create a welcoming atmosphere for all comers, and providing a chance for all members of our richly diverse community to contribute to and gain from the space.

In its first year Fitzroy Market opened to great reception from the community. As soon as it found its feet a strong, regular following began to grow. Relationships have developed with Livewires and the Fitzroy Learning Network and the market has raised thousands of dollars for these programs since it began.

The market (at Fitzroy Primary School) consists of 50 stalls including second hand and hand made goods, food and space for musicians and performers.

The market runs between 10am and 3pm!
